Gold Chrome Nails – LongHairPrettyNails

Gold Chrome Nails – Chrome nails seem to be the lastest trend these days. I have been seeing all of my favorite nail techs on Instagram using these powders to create awesome nail designs. When I saw one of my top favorite nail techs Poochiez Nails began to offer chrome powders in her online store, I knew I had to try it out. I purchase most of my nail supplies from Poochiez Nails because she carry great quality items at a fair price. With so many people selling chrome powder, I wanted to make sure I was getting a quality product. Purchasing from Poochiez Nails gave me the confidence that I was getting a good quality powder.

Gold Chrome Nails

I purchased the Gold Chrome powder, Poochiez Nails 3D acrylic brush, and Poochiez Nails Super Shine Gel Topcoat. The chrome powder was to include a sponge applicator brush for applying the powder however she emailed me to inform me that she was out of stock on those. So she ended up included a nail art brush as a gift. What great customer service!

Gold Chrome Nails

To achieve these Gold Chrome Nails I first applied the Poochiez Nails Super Shine Gel Topcoat to my nails. It is recommended to apply a dark color polish as your base color and then the gel topcoat but I wanted to see how the gold chrome powder would look over light pink acrylic. I used a makeup applicator sponge to apply to the gold powder to my nails using circular rubbing motions. A small amount of powder goes a long way. I just assumed that this powder would be like loose eyeshadow pigment powder but is it more finely milled that makeup pigment. As soon as the gold chrome powder to rubbed into the surface of the nail the pigment is bold and sort of “stuck” onto the nail (for lack of a better term). I applied one layer of gold chrome powder then applied the Poochiez Nails Super Shine Topcoat. After curing that for 60 seconds under my LED nail lamp, I repeated the process; putting on a second layer of powder.

Gold Chrome Nails

I am truly impressed with the gold chrome powder as it is very metallic and the color pay-off is so bold. I plan to purchase the silver chrome powder from Poochiez Nails once it is restocked.

Let me know what you think about these Gold Chrome Nails. Have you tried other brands of chrome powder? What was your experience?

Wet n Wild 1 Step Wonder Gel Nail Polish

Wet n Wild

I did a cute Valentine’s Day inspired design using the new Wet n Wild 1 Step Wonder Gel nail color in “It’s Sher-Bert Day”. If you are a nail freak like me, I’m sure you’re familiar with the affordablility and how easily acessible Wet n Wild products are. They’re available at most drug stores. Wet n Wild has really stepped up their nail polish game with this one. This polish has a gel formulation that requires no uv lamp or topcoat. Wet n Wild Wet n Wild

For this design, I applied nail tips and shaped them into an almond shape. I left them a bit longer and wider than what I wanted the final shape to be. It’s easier for me to do the shaping after the acrylic is laid.

I formed two hearts out of Tammy Taylor Whitest White acrylic powder which were used in the two heart design nails.

Then I applied LongHairPrettyNails Pink Nude acrylic powder to my nails. I also incorporated a pink glitter mix on two nails. This pink glitter is from Born Pretty Store.

Next I filed, shaped, and buffed the nails. Then I applied the Wet n Wild 1 Step Wonder Gel Nail Polish. I was really impressed with the quality of this polish. It’s a thick formulation that goes on really smooth and even. After applying two coats of the Wet n Wild 1 Step Wonder Gel Nail Polish, you can seriously go without a topcoat.

I used a small dotting tool and the Wet n Wild 1 Step Wonder Gel Nail Polish “It’s Sher-Bert Day” to accent the heart and glitter striped nails. Then used clear builder gel to adhere a/b crystals to both glitter nails.

I created a 3D acrylic bow using the Tammy Taylor Whitest White acrylic powder. Once the bow was formed, I added dots using the same polish and added a/b crystals to the center of the bow.

Wet n Wild

And here’s the final look. I added my favorite gel topcoat, Pink Gellac Ultra Shine, to the unpolished nails. I definitely could have went without the topcoat on the polished nails but it’s just a preference for me. Needless to say, I’ll be stalking my local Walgreens for the more colors of the Wet n Wild 1 Step Wonder Gel Nail Polish.

Have you tried the Wet n Wild 1 Step Wonder Gel Nail Polish yet? What are your thoughts? Share below!

Encapsulated 3D Acrylic Nails – Pink Nude Ombre

Encapsulated 3D Acrylic Nails – After wearing some crazy colors and designs for a few weeks, I was longing for my pink nude nails again.
This design is a pretty basic pink nude ombre but of course, I had to add a little something. I did a 3D
encapsulated flower on each ring finger nail.Encapsulated 3D Acrylic Nails

Products used to create this design:

  • No-Lift Nails Primer
  • No-Lift Liquid Acrylic
  • Natural Color Nail Tips
  • GERmanikure Crystal Glass File
  • Iridescent Glitter (from Born Pretty Store)
  • Tammy Taylor Whitest White Acrylic Powder
  • Tammy Taylor P3 Acrylic Powder
  • Beauty Secrets Clear Acrylic Powder
  • Medium Pink Acrylic Powder (purchased from @nunis_nails on Instagram)
  • Kolinsky #6 Acrylic Brush
  • White and Silver Nail Art Paint
  • Pink Gellac Ultra Shine No-Wipe UV / LED Gel Top Coat

I removed my previous acrylic nail set and prepped my natural nails for a fresh acrylic nail application. I
love my acrylic nails but I also make a point to take care of my natural nails. I was sent a crystal glass nail
file from GERmanikure to try out. From my researched, I found out that glass files are much safer for
natural nails. This file is made of Boeheim glass and is chemically etched, which basically means that you
can file your natural nails in both directions without causing frays or gouges in the nail. It also shapes
them fast and leaves a smooth edge.Encapsulated 3D Acrylic Nails Encapsulated 3D Acrylic Nails

Next I applied my nail tips using Nailene nail glue. I get a lot of questions about this nail glue and I don’t
quite get that because this just regular cheap nail glue lol. I picked this up on my trips to the grocery
store. It lasts a long time for me. I haven’t had any nails break while using it.Encapsulated 3D Acrylic Nails

Next, I trimmed that extra length with scissors and shaped them with the GERmanikure glass file. This file works great with artificial nails too. I find that I have better control with the file and I’m able to get the perfect shape more easily. Once again, I love that it leaves the filled edge smooth. Anyone else tired of stabbing yourself with sharp nails? Lol. Encapsulated 3D Acrylic NailsEncapsulated 3D Acrylic Nails

I applied my No-Lift Nails primer to all ten nails. I then created the 3D flower. I formed the flower directly on my natural nail and made it as flat as possible. This will ensure that once I cover it with clear acrylic, the nail will not be too chunky.Encapsulated 3D Acrylic Nails encapnails.Still011 (1)

I then moved on to the rest of my nails. I applied Nuni Torrez Medium Pink acrylic powder to my nail bed and clear to the tips for the perfect natural gradient.Encapsulated 3D Acrylic Nails Encapsulated 3D Acrylic Nails

I filed, shapped, and buffed my nails. Then I used white and silver nail art paint to create some free-hand nail art on the two encapsulated nails. Finally, I applied Pink Gellac Ultra Shine Gel Top Coat and cured for 60 seconds.encapnails.Still012 (1) Encapsulated 3D Acrylic NailsEncapsulated 3D Acrylic Nails

I love the simplicity of this design. This is actually my first time trying encapsulated 3D nail art. I love it and will definitely incorporate this into more designs in the future. Let me know what you think. Share your thoughts below.

Acrylic Overlay – Short Square Glitter Nails

Acrylic Overlay Acrylic Overlay This designs was done using “Pixie Pink” nude acrylic powder that I finally received for Nuni Torres. I hadn’t really got into details about my last order. What an ordeal it was! Well you all know that I am a huge fan of his work. I also love his nude acrylic powders. He doesn’t sell them all the time. More like 2-3 times a year. So when ever I see that he is selling them, I immediately place an order. I order 2 nude acrylic powders from him; “Pixie Pink” and “Cover Me Nude”. I paid $25 each plus $3 shipping for each bottle. Ridiculous, I know. So two weeks after sending him $59 via paypal. I hadn’t heard anything. Another two weeks go by and still nothing. My text messages, emails, dm’s, everything kept going unanswered. He request that payment is sent through paypal as “friends and family” so he doesn’t have to pay the fees. Which I can understand. I payed that way last time and received my order in a timely manner. So, because I sent the payment that way, I couldn’t dispute the charges! I was finally able to get a response from Nuni two months after placing my order. He informed me that all the packages where shipped out the week before. So, what it looks like to me is he accepts orders and them ships them all that the same time. I mean, he could at informed me of that.

This whole ordeal motivated me to create my own custom pink nude acrylic for a fraction of the cost.

Anyway, since I paid for these powders I decided to try them out.

Products used to create this design:

I soaked my previous set off and instead of cutting off my natural nails like I always do, I decided to use the “Pixie Pink” nude and do an acrylic overlay over my natural nails. This technique gives you a very slim and natural shape. I wanted to take a break from the bulkiness of long nails.

Honestly the “Pixie Pink” acrylic powder is not worth what I paid. I was expecting it to have more glitter in it. I ended up putting a glitter polish over it to give me more of the glittery look I was going for. Also, the color wasn’t doing much for me. Not pink enough at all in my opinion. Using my custom blend acrylic would have looked a lot better. But the Sinful Color polish helped greatly. I must say that I love the shape of them. They’re the perfect natural square shape.

I used Beauty Secrets clear acrylic powder to adhere the gold charms and various sized rhinestones for a little embellishment.

Acrylic Overlay

Let me know what you think about the acrylic overlay set. And if you want a beautiful nude color for a fraction of the price of Nuni’s click here.

Bright Pink Neon Nails w/ 3D Acrylic Flowers- LongHairPrettyNails

Bright Pink Neon NailsThis nail design is a bit different from what I have been doing lately. I have really fallen in love with the nude nail look, and been pretty much sticking to that. But this time around, I wanted to do something more bright and in your face! Of course I had to incorporate my favorite elements, pink nude and acrylic 3D flowers. This is also a nail collab with several fellow nail enthusiast. Check out links to everyone’s look here.

Products used to create this design:

The color I used for this design is this bright, neon pink nail polish from Ruby Kisses. It’s called “Sweet Thing”.

Bright Pink Neon NailsI used a dotting tool to create both polka dot nails.

Bright Pink Neon NailsI used regular scotch tape to create the half painted nail. The tape was used to give a very crisp line.

Bright Pink Neon NailsThese are the colored acrylic powders that I used to create the 3D flowers. I purchased these from Born Pretty Store a few years ago. I bought these when I first started to get into 3D acrylic art. As you can see, it’s time for a new set lol.

Bright Pink Neon NailsI used my #6 Kolinsky brush to create the 3D flowers. I used a small bead of the Beuauty Secrets clear acrylic powder to adhere A/B crystals in the center of each flower.

Bright Pink Neon NailsI really love this fun, bright, nail design. Surprising, I have received a lot of compliments as well. I know bright nails aren’t for everyone, but those who have seen them love it. This design is just so perfect for summer!

Pink Nude Nails with Glitter and 3D Flowers

Pink Nude Nails with GlitterThis Pink Nude Nails with Glitter and 3D flower design sort of just happened. I was going to do just a basic fill-in, but I received another package from Born Pretty Store which included some very pretty items. All the items were nice, but the glitters really stood out to me. So I just had to include them in my next design. Check out Born Pretty Store and use coupon code CVEK31 for 10% off your order.

Products used to create this design:

I prepped my nails by pushing back the cuticles and removing any dead skin. The I removed any lifting acrylic. Once that was done, I filled the ring finger nail on my left hand and the index finger nail on my right hand very low using my electric drill in preparation for the glitter acrylic. Pink Nude Nails with GlitterI filled in the nails using my all time favorite acrylic, Intense Pink, from @nunis_nails. Unfortunately, I’m going to have to find another cover pink once I run out because he only plans to sell them locally from now on. That’s a whole other issue, but if anyone knows of a great cover pink, let me know!Pink Nude Nails with GlitterI wanted to use some of the gorgeous glitter pots that I got from Born Pretty Store. I ended up using these two; a white iridescent and a silver glitter. I mixed the two in each of my glitter nails. To apply the glitter, I picked up a bead of clear acrylic and just dipped in into the glitter pot. I continued to do this until I got the desired amount of coverage of glitter. Then I applied a final layer of clear acrylic to encapsulate it and make it easier to file without losing any of the glitter.Pink Nude Nails with GlitterPink Nude Nails with GlitterPink Nude Nails with GlitterAfter that, I filled, buffed, and shaped the nails. Then I created the 3D flowers and added some rhinestones.Pink Nude Nails with Glitter Pink Nude Nails with Glitter Pink Nude Nails with GlitterLastly, I topped off this design with 2 coats of Seche Vite Top Coat.

Pink Nude Nails with GlitterI love this design because it incorporates my favorites design elements, pink nude acrylic, glitter, and of course, 3D acrylic art. Do you like this design? Tell me your thoughts below!
