Long Pink and White Acrylic Nails with Rose Gold Glitter

Long Pink and White Acrylic Nails

I have been neglecting my nails lately. As you might have noticed, it’s bee a few weeks since my last nail post. I’ve been extremely busy these past couple of weeks, but I finally set aside a little time to breath some life in my nails again.

This time around I decided to take it back to the basics (somewhat lol) with the classic long pink and white acrylic nails with a little twist. It has been a while since I did a french tip. I must say, my smile lines have gotten a lot better. The pink I used was of course my custom LongHairPrettyNails nude pink. The white acrylic I used was Whitest White by Tammy Taylor. The glitter used for the rose gold tips is from Born Pretty Store. Use the code CVEK31 to get an additional 10% off your order!

This is a fresh nail set, so I started by soaking my previous set off and prepping my natural nails for the acrylic application. After prepping my natural nails, I applied the nail tips and shaped them to my liking.

I used the LongHairPrettyNails pink nude for the nail bed. Pink Nude Acrylic Nail Powder

I applied the acrylic using the reverse application method. Which is basically applying the acrylic to the nail bed first and shaping the edge for the smile line. Once the nail bed is shaped. All you do is apply the white acrylic to the free edge and it doesn’t have to be neat. That is because when you file the nail, it will reveal the perfect smile line 🙂Long Pink and White Acrylic Nails Long Pink and White Acrylic Nails

For the glitter tips, I used the reverse technique as well. To apply the glitter, I picked up a bead of Beauty Secrets Clear Acrylic Powder, then dipped in into the glitter. I then used the glitter/clear acrylic bead to fill in the free edge. I repeated this process until I achieve the right amount of thickness on the tip, then capped it with just the Beauty Secrets Clear Acrylic Powder.Long Pink and White Acrylic Nails

For the left middle finger and right ring finger, I was going for the aquarium nail. Which turned out to be a complete fail, but I’ll walk you through the process.

I took a clear nail tip and placed it on top my the nail. I used Beauty Secrets Clear Acrylic Powder to fill in 3 sides, leaving the side near the cuticle open. I used an xacto knife to place the glitter inside the nail. Then I used a re-purposed medicine syringe to fill the nail with baby oil. Finally I sealed the opening with clear acrylic. I lightly filled and buffed the nail to make it more smooth. I realized that I didn’t make enough room inside the aquarium nail for the liquid and glitter to move freely. Next time, I start with a thinner nail base before adhering the clear tip.Long Pink and White Acrylic Nails Long Pink and White Acrylic Nails Long Pink and White Acrylic Nails Long Pink and White Acrylic Nails

I was a little disappointed that the aquarium nails didn’t come out exactly as I had hope for. I had a totally different vision in my head about how this was going to turn out lol. But I was able to save the design somewhat by adding some free hand nail art. Long Pink and White Acrylic NailsI plan on trying the aquarium nails again for my next design.

Pink Nude Matte 3D flowers and Bling Acrylic Nails

Pink Nude Matte 3D flowersThis design was very quick for me do achieve. This is a fill-in of my previous nail design Pink Nude Acrylic Nails w/ Glitter and 3D Flowers. Last time, I did one glitter nail on each hand. But this time around, I filled-in each nail with my pink nude acrylic that I purchased from Nuni Torres of Instagram. So, the glitter nails have this gradient, ombre thing going on!

Products used to create this design:

Here I have prepped my nails and applied my No-lift nails primer. As always, I apply this to each nail and left it dry. Then I re-apply a second coat right before I began laying my acrylic.

Pink Nude Matte 3D flowersI used the Tammy Taylor P3 acrylic powder to make the 3D flowers. If you follow this blog then you would know that I was in love with Tammy Taylor acrylics. I really do love the color, I just had to switch brands of acrylic when doing my full sets. The reason being is that the Tammy Taylor powder sets extremely fast. Leaving my no time to shape my nails the may I life them. But a fast setting powder is perfect for 3D art!

Pink Nude Matte 3D flowers Pink Nude Matte 3D flowers Pink Nude Matte 3D flowersNext I used these gorgeous Princess crown nail charms that I got from Born Pretty Store. (Use coupon code CVEK31 for 10% off!) I used a medium sized bead of acrylic to attached them to both glitter nails. Next I did a little free hand nail art with my LA colors nail paint in color white, then added a few a/b crystals for extra shine.Pink Nude Matte 3D flowers

I put two coats of my Seche Vite topcoat on each nail expect of the nails with the 3D flowers. I wanted that nail to have that extra matte look.

Pink Nude Nails with Glitter and 3D Flowers

Pink Nude Nails with GlitterThis Pink Nude Nails with Glitter and 3D flower design sort of just happened. I was going to do just a basic fill-in, but I received another package from Born Pretty Store which included some very pretty items. All the items were nice, but the glitters really stood out to me. So I just had to include them in my next design. Check out Born Pretty Store and use coupon code CVEK31 for 10% off your order.

Products used to create this design:

I prepped my nails by pushing back the cuticles and removing any dead skin. The I removed any lifting acrylic. Once that was done, I filled the ring finger nail on my left hand and the index finger nail on my right hand very low using my electric drill in preparation for the glitter acrylic. Pink Nude Nails with GlitterI filled in the nails using my all time favorite acrylic, Intense Pink, from @nunis_nails. Unfortunately, I’m going to have to find another cover pink once I run out because he only plans to sell them locally from now on. That’s a whole other issue, but if anyone knows of a great cover pink, let me know!Pink Nude Nails with GlitterI wanted to use some of the gorgeous glitter pots that I got from Born Pretty Store. I ended up using these two; a white iridescent and a silver glitter. I mixed the two in each of my glitter nails. To apply the glitter, I picked up a bead of clear acrylic and just dipped in into the glitter pot. I continued to do this until I got the desired amount of coverage of glitter. Then I applied a final layer of clear acrylic to encapsulate it and make it easier to file without losing any of the glitter.Pink Nude Nails with GlitterPink Nude Nails with GlitterPink Nude Nails with GlitterAfter that, I filled, buffed, and shaped the nails. Then I created the 3D flowers and added some rhinestones.Pink Nude Nails with Glitter Pink Nude Nails with Glitter Pink Nude Nails with GlitterLastly, I topped off this design with 2 coats of Seche Vite Top Coat.

Pink Nude Nails with GlitterI love this design because it incorporates my favorites design elements, pink nude acrylic, glitter, and of course, 3D acrylic art. Do you like this design? Tell me your thoughts below!

Glitter Gradient Nails with 3D Acrylic Art

These nails are Japanese nail art inspired. I was really going for the gyaru nails look. Just super cute and over the top! These nails are a redesign from my Candy Cane nails. I kept the bow from that design because I thought it was too pretty to hack away at it with my nippers lol. This was actually my first time doing a fill-in with previous 3D art attached.
Products used to create this design:

  • Beauty Secret’s Pink Acrylic Powder
  • Beauty Secrets Clear Acrylic Powder
  • Tammy Taylor P3 Acrylic Powder
  • Chunky Iridescent White Glitter
  • Chunky Iridescent Pink Glitter
  • No-lift Nails Primer
  • No-lift Nails Liquid Acrylic (Monomer)
  • Size #6 Acrylic Brush
  • Gold Nail forms
  • Tammy Taylor Whitest White Acrylic powder
  • LA Colors White Nail Art Paint
  • Various sizes of clear rhinestones (purchased from ebay)
  • Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Nail Coat, 0.5 Ounce

I began with filling my nails and smooth them out around the cuticles. The previous fill grew out very nicely with little to no lifting of the acrylic. So, I didn’t have to file a lot.
Glitter Gradient Nails
To do my fill-in I used clear acrylic dipped in the white iridescent glitter. The I used the same technique with the pink glitter but instead of clear acrylic, I used the Beauty Secrets Pink acrylic. I placed the pink glitter towards the middle of the nail and stroking it down to make the gradient effect. In some areas, I had to go back and forth between the white and pink glitter to get the gradient just right.

Once all the glitter was placed to my liking, I encapsulated the entire nail with clear acrylic. This allows for me to be able to file and shape the nail without disturbing the glitter. After that, I filed, shaped, and buffed the nails.

Next, I did my 3D acrylic art using Tammy Taylor powders in Whitest White and P3. I did various flowers and petals.

Finally I added a little detail using LA color white nail art paint and clear rhinestones.
This is by far my favorite set I’ve done so far. Most of the time, there is always something that I don’t like about my nails. But that is not the case for this set. Everything just turned out so perfect. I will definitely re-create this design in the future!

Candy Cane Nails – Christmas Nail Design

Candy Cane Nails

This nail design is a Christmas favorite of mine. Every Holiday season, I have to do some sort of Candy Cane or Peppermint design.  This time around I did the candy cane design on clear nails. I love the effect it gives with the clear peeking through, almost like an ice sickle. The candy cane design is completely hand-painted and the bow is of course hand sculpted as well!

Products used to create this design:

I refilled my nails and shaped and buff.

Candy Cane Nails

Then I began creating diagnol lines using the LA Colors while nail art paint.Candy Cane Nails

I then go over the previous lines to make them thicker. In between the thick line, I do thinner lines. This technique really gives the illusion of the candy cane design

.Candy Cane Nails

I repeat this same technique for all of the nails. I use the acrylic brush moisten with a small amount of monomer to clean up any lines I messed up on.Candy Cane Nails

Next, I work on the 3D acrylic bow. I used the Tammy Taylor Whitest White acrylic powder for this step. I wanted a fairly large bow, so I used medium/large sized beads of acrylic.Candy Cane Nails Candy Cane Nails Candy Cane Nails

Next, I used the Kiss red nail art paint to create random thin lines to complete the candy cane design.Candy Cane Nails

Finally, I wait until all the paint is completely dry, then I apply my Seche Vite topcoatScreen Shot 2014-12-23 at 12.33.39 AM

This is a really cute and simple nails design perfect for the holiday season. How do you like it? Try it out for yourself!

Crystal Pink Acrylic Nails with 3D Flowers

Crystal Pink Acrylic Nails

This design was not planned but I love the way it turned out. While in Sally’s restocking on my nail supplies, I came across Beauty Secret acrylic powder in color extreme pink. I had used the regular pink before and had planned on just repurchasing that. But I’m a sucker for really pink acrylics and I was extremely curious to see how pink the color was, so I bought this color instead. I was surprisingly impressed. As I stated, I have used the Beauty Secret’s powder before and it was ok, but nothing to rave about. However, this must be a reformulation because the quality is so much better than before. This powder is extremely easy to use and is not as loose and runny as it had been in the past when I used this brand. The only con is I was expecting a more opaque pink color. It’s way clearer than I expected but it still turned out super gorgeous!

Products used to create this design:

As always, I start off with properly prepped natural nails. I soaked off my previous set of nails in acetone. Then I trimmed my natural nails, gently removed the shine, and applied No-Lift Nails primer. I used nail forms to sculpt my acrylic nails. I prefer to use nail forms instead of nail tips because I think you get a more natural, slimmer shaped nail with nail forms. A pet peeve of mine is extra wide acrylic nails!

Crystal Pink Acrylic Nails

After I’m done sculpting the nail. I file, shape, and buff the nails. Then I work on my 3D acrylic flowers. Crystal Pink Acrylic Nails Crystal Pink Acrylic Nails Crystal Pink Acrylic Nails

Next, I applied a few clear rhinestones just for a little bling lol. Crystal Pink Acrylic Nails

Finally I applied my top coat, which is the Seche Vite top coat. I didn’t apply this so the flowers. I like them to look “dry”. Crystal Pink Acrylic Nails
